We are here to help you.

Veterinary Requirements for Taking Your Pet to Turkey
Here’s a full list of the veterinary import requirements your pet must meet before travelling from the UK to Turkey:
1. Veterinary Travel Certification
A specific document called Export Health Certificate (EHC) is required to take your pet from the UK to Turkey.
This certificate must be:
✅ Issued by an Official Veterinarian (OV) who has completed specialist training.
✅ Approved by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
We can assist you with obtaining this certificate to ensure all documentation is correct and complete.

2. Import Permit
If your pet is travelling unaccompanied, you must obtain an official import permit. Without it, your pet may be refused entry into Turkey.
You can apply for the import permit from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Akay Cad No 3, Bakanlıklar, Ankara, Turkey.
3. Microchip Identification
Your pet must be microchipped with an ISO-compliant transponder. This ensures they can be uniquely and permanently identified.
4. Rabies Vaccination 💉
Turkey requires all pets to have an up-to-date rabies vaccination using a government-approved, inactivated rabies vaccine.
✔️ Your pet must be at least 90 days old at the time of vaccination.
✔️ Ensure the rabies vaccination is valid and properly recorded.
🚨 Pro Tip: If you are planning to get your pet vaccinated, please note that Rabies and routine vaccinations should not be given on the same day, as they may invalidate each other.
5. Rabies Serology Test (Titre Test)
To confirm that your pet's rabies vaccination has been successful, a Rabies Serology Test (also known as a Titre Test) is mandatory.
🩸 The blood sample must be taken at least 30 days after the rabies vaccination.
🧪 The result must show 0.5 IU/ml or higher.

6. Clinical Examination 🩺
A final health check by an Official Vet must take place within 24 hours of departure. During this examination, the vet will confirm that your pet is fit to travel.
If all requirements are met, your vet will issue the Export Health Certificate to accompany your pet on their journey.
